META TAGS: Titles, description & keywords.

What are Meta Titles, meta Description & Keywords?

Meta Title: It is simply providing the complete information of the respective webpage of a particular website with a proper and good title which includes the related keywords on it within the  60 characters

Meta Description: It shows complete description of the webpage, with proper and unique content. It shows in the SERP below to the title. A description should be in 160 characters only. In the description part provide the complete related information, to avoid confusing the end users and visitors.

Keywords: It’s simply keywords  or key phrases only. While search engine is indexing ( crawling) the website, mainly it crawls the text content and graphic content. During the crawling time mainly it focus on the targeted keywords of the website. So while giving the keywords, we should be very careful.

Alt Tags : Alternative Tags

What are alternative Tags ?

In general alternative tags are used for  images & infographics. It is simply providing the targeted keywords to the images at the back end, instead of using IMG01 (say). So that while the search engines are crawling the website or webpages, it will crawl the graphic content also. So while the users searching for graphic content our images will appear at the top of serp. And its a technique to provide the keywords in all possible aspects. These tags are working as alternative tags for meta tags, so it is called ALT TAGS.

Canonical Tag:

What is Canonical tag ?

Canonical tag is used to avoid the duplication of content in website. In general it is used to represent the website link with one proper ”URL”. Instead of maintaining the 2 or more same urls for single website. Observe the below examples to sort out the canonical issue.

Say :

  1. http://www.example.com/ (Standard url)
  2. www.example.com/ (duplicate url)
  3. example.com/ (duplicate url).

In the above case, the website url is single only, but the representation is different. So please try avoid maintaining such type URL’S for a single website. Google will not encourage this activities anywhere.

Robot Tags:  

What is Robot Tag ?

Robot tags are called the Robots Exclusion Protocol (REP). This will regulate web robot behavior and search engine crawling. It works as an instructor for the website for exhibiting the website or webpage data or information on the website.

To check the robots, weather  enabled or not for a website. The query is http://www.example.com/robots.txt

What is  Site map?

Site map is a complete representation of website information in a standard linking structure format. It’s a collection of all inner pages and links of a particular website. So that it gives hint to the search engine while it’s crawling (indexing) the website. The search engine will easily finds the complete website info without confusion. Ensure your sitemap should update on regular basis. So that search engine will find you easily all the time.

Content Optimization:

What is Content Optimization ?

In general content plays an important role all the time. When we are talking about the digital world, particularly for any type of business ( Service based or Product based) it’s very common to maintain the  website, webpage, blog page or etc. At this particular moment when we want to get protect from our competitors, content it is the only single weapon all the time. Before updating the content in the web, ensure to optimize properly. So that the search engine will considers as fresh and unique while it’s crawling. For content optimization there are many 3rd party tools like WordPress and etc.

Header (Body) Tags: (H1, H2, H3, H4,….H6).

What are header tags ?

Header tags are also called as heading tags. In general these are used in HTML coding, the heading tags from h1 to h6 form a top-down hierarchy. Based up on the content representing in the website the header tags will be allotted, like for the main heading it will consider H1, and for the sub headings it will consider H2, H3 and so on H6. So it is also very important while working on headers, because based up on the priority will plan for the headers. And also ensure to add more targeted keywords on the headers. URL Structure:

What is URL structure?

The name it self conveying what it means. It is nothing but maintaining the linking structure of the website in a proper way. It means for every website there are some inner pages like “About us”,” Services”, “Portfolio”, “contact us”. So ensure to maintain all the links (url’s) in a proper way, I.e. for eg: if we are clicking on the “services” page the services page should open. And ensure to maintain proper link with targeted keywords in the url structure.

Keyword Density

What  is  Keyword density?

In the meta tags part we already discussed the importance of the keywords and key phrases. Now we have to discuss about what is keyword density. It is percentage of the keywords  or key phrases using in the website content.  For this job we need to convince with google algorithm. The present algorithm suggesting 1-3% of keyword density along with semantic keywords and LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords works best for any type of website.

What is Internal Linking ?

Internal links are links that go from one page on a domain to a different page on the same domain. This type technique will helps to navigate the website in a simple manner.
